Trash Protection

After emptying the wastebaskets in the galley and bathroom, I put a magazine or folded up newspaper in the bottoms of the new bags going into these cans. This prevents trash from poking through the bottoms of the bags and leaking. By doing this, I no longer have a trail of wet coffee grounds following me out of the motorhome every time I take out the trash.

Decorative Lighting

I purchased a strip of tubular lighting that I used to line the dash in the front window of my motorhome. You can use any length to accommodate your coach. It can be left in place permanently and looks so nice when lit up at night.

Portable TV Stand

At times, watching TV outdoors can be a problem because of the sun's glare or bright night lights shining on the screen. So, I built a movable TV stand using a table leg tripod, a 12-inch table leg, and a table base plate, all available at RV stores. The TV stand base is bolted to the table base plate with 2-inch-long ¼-inch stainless-steel bolts, and both the 15-foot TV cable and power cords are taped together. The stand folds up when not being used and takes up very little storage room in the motorhome. The stand and TV can be moved to any angle or position for easy and clear viewing without glare. Now, my wife can watch her favorite movie or daytime talk show inside while I watch sports programs outdoors.

Vent Operation Tool

Having a vertically challenged wife (in other words, she's short), I made an arm extender that enables her to open and close our temperature-controlled Fan-Tastic Vent fan. I started with a 1-inch PVC coupling, a 1-inch to ½-inch reducer sleeve, a ½-inch "T," and a short length of ½-inch PVC pipe. I cut notches into the top of the coupling so that it would engage the fan's cover knob, and then I glued all of the pieces together.
